About new Nike golf shoes

A number of top players showcased the latest addition to Nike Golf's range of 2011 new shoes at the WGC-HSBC Champions event last week.

Francesco Molinari, who eventually won the tournament in Shanghai, Paul Casey, Anthony Kim, Carl Pettersson and Charl Schwartzl all wore the new Lunar Control shoe.

Reviewing the product, Jonathan Greathead, senior equipment editor at Today's Golfer, noted that it incorporates both the Lunarlon Foam and Flywire technologies.

He said: "The Lunarlon Foam innovation is extremely lightweight and responsive, while the dual density foam is also highly-durable.

"The Flywire technology is an ultra-strong but lightweight construction that provides a dynamic and supportive fit in the midfoot area."

Mr Greathead also explained that the shoe makes use of a leather upper surface which offers extra protection as it is reinforced by an additional waterproof treatment.

The Lunar Control shoe is expected to be available from January 1st 2011 at a price of £110.
