Power balance wristbands- Most wanted gifts this season

Some people are just hard to shop for. To give you a little help, we at the Pirates' Log decided to create a gift list that includes things your friends and family would love and many of them are actually affordable.

On every single Christmas list, it seems, the iPad by Apple ranks number one. This gift starts at $499 and goes up depending on what features you add.

Everyone is buzzing about Kinect, the new accessory for the popular Xbox 360 game console. Best Buy offers the Kinect for $149.99 and other stores offer similar prices.

PlayStation 3 is another desired present for most kids and gamers. Sony offers the system and two games in a bundle for $299.99.

These are the most coveted gifts this year. However, here are some gift ideas that are more specific to the person receiving them.

Mom:

1.Fuzzy slippers: like the ones from Old navy that are only $13.

2.Scented candle: like the ones from Bath & Body Works that price around $20 or less.

3.Perfume: this can run cheap, like Estée Lauder Youth-Dew for $30, or slightly expensive like Marc Jacobs Lola which is $88.

4.Hot cocoa set: only $20 for the Hot Cocoa Tin Trio from Godiva.

5.Purse: Mulberry has partnered with Target and sells bags as low as $15.

6.Earrings: Forever 21 sells cute but cheap earrings that range from $3 to $5.

7.Spa package: this kind of gift can run high but there are many local businesses that offer them.

Dad:

1.Digital Frame: Target has some as low as $34.99.

2.Popcorn: Bloomingdales has almond-pecan popcorn for only $13.

3.Personal television: Amazon.com sells different devices that sell for around $150.

4.Wallet: Fossil has many choices for as little as $20.

5.Cologne: Eternity for Men, Aqua by Calvin Klein $35 is a good choice.

6.Grill: From the sandwich grill for $19.99 to the gas grill for $599.99, both at Macy's, there are many choices.

7.Massage chair: Macy's has a car seat massager and comfort cushions for $19.99.

Brother:

1.Camera: Try a cool one like the pop-art camera by Fred Flare $20.

2.Sunglasses: Ezekiel has a pair that fold up and only cost $10.

3.Candy:Customize one yourself at chocomize.com for $4-$6.

4.Wristband: The power balance wristbands are popular and start at only a few dollars at Amazon.com.

5.Games: A Game Stop gift card can be as low as $5 or you could just buy one of the popular games like Just Dance for Wii or Call of Duty for Xbox which go for $30 and $60 respectively at Amazon.com.

6.Nerf: If your brother is a kid or acts like one get him anything Nerf which start at $5 and go to $45 at Target.

7.DVD:Portable DVD players can be expensive-they start at $59 at Walmart- but if your bro already has one get him a DVD which start as low as $4.99 at Blockbuster. Or, just get a Blockbuster gift card.

Sister

1.Makeup-Sephora has a number of gift sets, one of them being The Jewelery Box which is a pallete that holds 32 eyeshadows eight lip glosses, bronzer, shimmering powder, five eyeliners, and a necklace for only $52.

2.Bath and Body Works:You can get a gift set,they start at $10,or any one of their products which go as low as a couple dollars.

3.Clothes:Gift cards to any popular store like Forever 21, Aeropostale, or Hollister can be cheap and your sister can get whatever she wants.

4.Hair:The Remington Random Dot Hairdryer and Garden Iron are really cute and only $20 each.

5.Shuffle:The iPod Shuffle comes in a variety of colors and is only $49.

Other cool gifts

1.More Apple: the iPod touch has the best of most things Apple in it but is expensive with $299 as its starting price.

2.Vudu: An item that hasn't really been talked about is Vudu, which is a device that provides you instant access to digital entertainment and allows you to download movies. It costs $299 but seems worth it.

3.Geeky:It's a cool concept but maybe a little geeky, the electronic spy camera shirt is a unique gift to give. It has a hidden camera on the actual shirt and costs $39.99.

4.Kindle:The Kindle is not as high-tech as the iPad, but it's not as expensive either. It allows you to download digital versions of your favorite books and will cost you $139.

5.Charity:The dark organic chocolates from Compartes in California show a map of Africa and are $20 a box. Each box comes with a bracelet, that is also available separately. Each purchase provides 2 months education for a child in Darfur.

6.Book: Let's Bring Back is an encyclopedia of interesting things from the past that most people have forgotten. It costs $13.57 at Amazon.
