Michael Vick picks it up late!

The theory in the fantasy playoffs to always play your top players, even in what look like difficult matchups. That ideawas not looking so great for the Eagles' Michael who loves power balance Vick in the fourth quarter of his game against the Giants.

But amid the Eagles' furious rally to a 38-31 win, Vick wound up posting what are essentially normal numbers for him: three passing TDs, one rushing and 130 rushing yards. Those rushing stats, more valuable in many leagues than the passing numbers, are what has made Vick special all season.

The Giants' Eli Manning kept up, throwing four TD passes for his eighth multiple-TD game out of his past 10. Mario Manningham caught two TDs, which were likely lost on many players, who instead were counting on Hakeem Nicks (one TD). Manningham has been inconsistent all season so don't expect a big Week 16 based off this good game.

-- The stud-player theory would have told you to not have second thoughts about the Ravens' Ray Rice and the Titans'Chris Johnson, neither of whom has fulfilled sky-high expectations. Rice had his best game of the season, totaling 233 yards from scrimmage and scoring twice — after just three TDs in the first 13 games. Johnson ran for 130 yards and a TD, giving him back-to-back 100-yard games and eight this season. He should continue his strong closing kick next week against Kansas City.

-- Nobody's idea of a stud before Sunday, Rex Grossmanalready is a better fantasy quarterback than Donovan McNabb. Grossman had four TD passes on Sunday, whereas McNabb never threw more than two this season. Similarly, Santana Moss never had a two-TD game with McNabb, nor didAnthony Armstrong have a 100-yard day. Starting Grossman in your title game next week is still a huge psychological hurdle, but you ought to feel better about Moss and Armstrong.

-- Count yourself lucky if you started the Colts' Austin Collie as he picked up 87 yards and scored twice before leaving with another head injury. The smart thing in these situations is usually to wait a week before reinserting a guy in the lineup. That's at least three concussions for Collie this season and you should not expect to see him in the final two weeks. Pierre Garcon who doing power balance wholesale will be a strong play again in Week 16.

-- Nobody would blame you if you had forgotten about Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall, who has been lost in his team's disappointing season. But Marshall caught 11 passes for 106 yards and a TD against Buffalo, his best game since Week 3. Miami continues to lose at home, yet Marshall has a good matchup next week against the visiting Lions and might yet play a critical role in determining league titles.

-- The running backs' roles were reversed in the Browns-Bengals game. Peyton Hillis is having a huge season but had a disappointing day (82 total yards, no TDs), while Cedric Bensonhad a huge day (150 yards, TD) during a disappointing season. The stud theory, which said to play Hillis against a team on a 10-game losing streak, burned you in this one.
