How Can You Remove Back of Longines Watch


Longines Watches is a well-known watch not just serves as a faithful time keeping device, but is also associated with your social status and personality. Longines Watches have a rich history, dating all the way back the mid 1800’s. Longines produces high-quality watches with both quartz and mechanical movements. Quartz watches are powered by a battery-powered movements while automatic watches wind themselves “automatically” when worn. If you have a watch with a dead battery, you can replace the battery yourself. It is not difficult to remove the back cover of the watch case. Of course, if you want to clean the inside of your watch, you also need to remove the back of the watch.

Opening the Back of a Longines

Step 1

Figure out what size of screwdriver from your watch kit will fit around the edge of the watch casing. You may need different-sized screwdrivers to open the cases of different styles of Longines. Take a screwdriver and carefully place it in the crevice around the edge of the watch back. If you can fit roughly 2 mm of the tip in the casing, then the screwdriver fits.

Step 2

Push the screwdriver up to pop open the case. You will need to use force to open it but still be gentle in the process.

Step 3

Remove the rubber O-ring or gasket. Remember to properly replace the gasket when closing the watch case. This rubber ensures that the watch is waterproof.

Tips & Warnings

• Even though it is a fairly simple process to open the watch case. You should be concentrate and take care. Be sure to take proper precautions when opening the watch case to avoid damage. If you do not have enough experience working on watches, you should take it directly to a jeweler.
